Returning to College to Advance your Career is Trending
A returning student, Alvin wanted better career opportunities in a growing, competitive cybersecurity field.
Alvin Terrell (Cybersecurity and Network Engineering, ‘24), knows the power of New Ƶapp Tech to launch him into a successful future.
As an Army veteran, a returning student, a transfer student from an online program, and a father with skilled work experience, he wanted a better opportunity in a growing, competitive cybersecurity field.
Alvin is gaining the competitive cybersecurity skills he needs at NEIT. After being frustrated with the solitary nature of online classes and lack of personal attention, Alvin realized there is no substitute for the hands-on experience he found at NEIT.

The decision to transfer to New Ƶapp Tech changed Alvin’s career path — and his life.
“I knew that at this university, they were going to help me find a job. That’s important for an adult learner like me who comes in and says, ‘I don’t want to waste a lot of time. I want to finish my degree and continue with my career. I still have bills to pay.’”
In 2023, NEIT launched a cybersecurity training range, a state-of-the-art virtual simulation platform for training students and IT professionals through exercises mirroring the complex real-world situations they face in the field. The partnership is between NEIT and Cyberbit, the market-leader in skill development.
